CRIPPLE CREEK JAMBOREE - SUNDAY DECEMBER 28, 2025
CRIPPLE CREEK, COLORADO

We go to Cripple Creek all the time. Seriously, all the time. Mostly it’s because I like to play poker but we also like the historic hotels and the quirky vibe. The food is pretty good up there and the drinks are free if you’re gambling. There’s a community theater that’s performing White Christmas, there’s an Ice Castle that could be fun. And there’s some good hiking/snow shoeing to be done the next day.

A few of us are going up there Sunday December 28 through Monday December 29. Join us if you’re interested.

RSVP: Just let us know if you’re going. It’ll be up to you to figure out your accommodations and itinerary.

HOTEL: We always stay at Hospitality House, an old hospital that is now a hotel. They have an RV park there if you want to bring your own bed. Rates vary depending on the room. Nice vibe, low-key, free yogurt parfait in the morning. You can also check out Hotel St. Nicholas, which has a better breakfast and a bar downstairs. We’ve also stayed at the Chamonix ($$$) and Colorado Grande Casino (cheap & quirky and only 7 rooms).

GAMBLING: It’s a casino town with slots galore. Table games are $10 minimum. Poker is $1-3 NLH.

THEATER: If you’re into it, there’s a Sunday matinee of White Christmas.

FOOD: There’s a fancy schmancy place at the Chamonix, a nice bar/resto called the District and an Irish pub called McGills. Chamonix has a nice coffee shop in the a.m.

ICE CASTLE: Tickets go on sale Dec. 2 and are probably around $35

HIKING: There are a few good hikes in the area. Pancake Rocks is one of them. Other options abound.

SHOPPING: There is none.

STOP LIGHTS: There are none.

DONKEYS: There are many. But they are penned in the winter.
